Significant Others & Spouses (SOS) Program
The Sanders Center SOS program is a weeklong residential retreat that encompasses the use of group therapy, peer therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and other therapeutic modalities. Respite for family and caregivers is an imperative part of the first responder and military/veteran life.
As a Sanders Center client, you will only be in group sessions with other caregivers, significant others, spouses and family members of first responders or military. The trained peer counselors are all caregivers, significant others, spouses and family members of first responders and military and the program clinicians are all experienced with first responders, military, and trauma.
The Sanders Center staff strongly believes experience is subjective, and we will never place you with peers or clinicians outside of your experience. We literally take care of our own here - like extended family.
The SOS programs will begin in the Spring of 2016.
